Cherry Collection by Colourpop A Hit or A Miss

Colourpop has gained a special place in my heart as one of my favorite cosmetics brands. The perfect blend of affordable prices and high-quality products makes it a top choice for makeup lovers on a budget. You can indulge in eyeshadow palettes, lip colors, highlighters, and lashes from Colourpop without emptying your wallet, making it a fantastic alternative to high-end brands like Dior and Estée Lauder. And let’s face it, saving money on makeup means more funds for other beauty treatments, like those salon-quality nail sessions we all adore.

When Colourpop unveiled its new cherry collection, I was thrilled. This collection offers a wide range of products, from blushes to eyeshadows and liners, all featuring stunning red and pink shades. Naturally, I had to try out a serum blush and a cream liner to see if they could win my heart.

Liquid blushes can be a bit tricky, requiring some practice to master. Throughout the years, I’ve experimented with various types of blushes, including powders, gels, liquids, sticks, and more. Among them, I’ve only truly fallen for powder blushes because of their ease and speed of application. However, I was open to giving this liquid blush a chance.

To be completely honest, it didn’t leave me awestruck. No matter how I applied it – whether with my fingers, a brush, or a makeup sponge – it ended up looking streaky. The application directions were somewhat unclear, leaving makeup enthusiasts like me in the dark, particularly those who struggle with liquid blush. The color payoff was good, and it did last throughout the day. But if some parts of my cheeks had color while others didn’t, I consider that a miss.

On the other hand, the cream liner was a huge hit. Over the years, I’ve tested various liners, including liquid, pencil, gel, cream, and others. Different occasions call for different liners. For instance, liquid liner may not be the best choice for your wedding day. Cream liners, on the other hand, provide rich pigment and are relatively easy to correct if you make a mistake due to their consistency.

In short, every makeup enthusiast should have at least one cream liner in their collection, regardless of the color. In my case, I tried a red cream liner, and with one sweep across my lids, it felt like you could see it from space (in a good way). The color popped brilliantly on camera and had a gorgeous shade of red. For those rushed mornings when there’s barely any time for a full eye look, using a colorful liner is the perfect way to instantly elevate your appearance.

The best part is that both of these products are priced at just $7, making them incredibly affordable for the quality they deliver. If you’re skilled at handling liquid blush, I’d encourage you to give the serum blush a try. And for those hectic mornings when you need to look put-together in a flash, the red liner is an absolute game-changer. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
