Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 5 is set to begin with the third installment of the Ant-Man series, titled “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania.” The recently released trailer has unveiled significant details about the film.
The movie will mark the return of beloved characters from previous installments, including Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd), Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer).
In addition to the familiar characters, the film will introduce some new faces. The primary antagonist of the movie is Kang the Conqueror, portrayed by Jonathan Majors. Another new character is Scott’s daughter, Cassie Lang, now played by Kathryn Newton.
Cassie is not entirely new to the series, having made brief appearances in previous Ant-Man movies and “Avengers: Endgame.” However, this is the first time Kathryn Newton is taking on the role. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress shared insights into Cassie’s character arc in the upcoming film:
“I’m really not perfect, and I’m super impatient, and I wanna be a hero but I have no idea what I’m doing, and I think Cassie Lang is like that. She’s just trying to figure out how to be a good person and, you know, making a lot of mistakes. She’s kind of a mess, and so am I… You’re definitely gonna see some of that. But a good heart.”
“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania” is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on February 17th, marking the start of Phase 5 of Marvel movies. Kang the Conqueror will be the prominent antagonist for this phase, generating significant excitement among fans for his introduction in the first film.
