Reports indicate that Shakira triggered the anger of other parents when she and her children circumvented a nearly 90-minute wait line to enter a Halloween attraction.
According to various Spanish news agencies, the 45-year-old “Hips Don’t Lie” singer allegedly bypassed families who had been waiting for over an hour to experience the Tower of Terror rollercoaster in Barcelona.
According to a local journalist who spoke with Socialité, Shakira, accompanied by her two children, Milan, 9, and Sasha, 7, and a security officer, managed to enter the attraction unnoticed.
In a tweet, journalist Silvia Taulés mentioned that Shakira seemed unfazed by the complaints of people she bypassed in line, despite her actions.
This behavior raises questions about the example she’s setting for her children. Taulés further commented that by teaching them how to cut in line, they might be inclined to do so even when it’s unnecessary.
Photographs posted on Twitter by Taulés show the Super Bowl halftime performer at the venue with her children. Page Six reached out to Shakira’s representatives for a response but had not received one at the time of the report.
Shakira has had a challenging year due to her breakup and custody battle with Gerard Piqué, a 35-year-old player for Barcelona FC, with whom she shares two children. The former couple issued a joint statement in June confirming their separation and requesting privacy for the sake of their children. Piqué is currently dating Clara Chia Marti, a 23-year-old public affairs student.
