A close associate of Kanye West has provided information to The Post confirming that some faculty members at Kanye West’s Donda Academy have left their positions as a form of protest against West’s erratic behavior and alleged expression of anti-Semitic sentiments. Among those who have chosen to leave are staff members who follow the Jewish faith.
It has been observed that several individuals of the Jewish faith who were employed at the academy decided to discontinue their roles, likely influenced by pressure from friends and family. Malik Yusef, who serves in an administrative capacity at Donda and is involved in shaping the minds of young students, remarked, “When your family advises you it’s best to leave, you follow your team.” Yusef expressed his view that Kanye West’s comments were outlandish.
Tamar Andrews, a prominent figure in the field of education, is reportedly one of the individuals who have left their positions. TMZ has also reported that Andrews holds influential roles at two Jewish educational institutions. Despite attempts by The Post to reach out to Andrews for comments, no response was received.
Yusef, in an interview with The Post, commented on Kanye West’s alleged anti-Jewish statements, saying, “Donda is focused on critical thinking, and I believe Kanye did not employ critical thinking.” He emphasized the school’s commitment to critical thinking. The academy has yet to release an official statement regarding the situation.
In a surprising turn of events, Donda Academy Principal Jason Angell initially informed parents via email on Wednesday that the school would be closing for the remainder of the 2022-2023 academic year due to a decision made by the founder. However, just four hours later, another alert was issued, stating that classes would resume as scheduled on Thursday, and the school had been reinstated.
