Kenzo and Levi’s have collaborated on a Fall 2023 capsule collection, marking the first-ever partnership under Nigo’s leadership at Kenzo. This collection combines the cultural heritages of the Parisian-Japanese fashion house with the iconic American apparel company, celebrating the fusion of historical Japanese dressmaking and classic American workwear.
The Kenzo x Levi’s collection includes around 20 garments and accessories, with a focus on premium Japanese Kaihara denim. Nigo, a devoted collector of historical clothing, draws inspiration from Kenzo’s archives, which house a catalog of American denim pieces, including original Levi Strauss & Co. workwear. The pieces in this collection feature a co-branded design, merging the classic Levi Strauss & Co. ‘two horse pull’ emblem with Kenzo’s iconic logo. The collection includes gender-inclusive outerwear, denim shirts, button-down denim dresses, dungarees, and gender-inclusive Levi’s ‘501’ jeans, paying homage to the original Levi’s ‘501’ Jeans from 1933.
The collection campaign was shot in the picturesque backdrop of Kyoto and beautifully filmed by Japanese filmmaker Umi Ishihara, capturing the essence of the East-meets-West philosophy. The collection is available in Kenzo boutiques worldwide, select Levi’s stores, Kenzo partner locations, and online through Kenzo.com and Levi.com.
